Major and minor - In music, the adjectives major and minor can describe a scale, key, chord, or interval.

Relative key - In music, the relative minor of a particular major key (or the relative major of a minor key) is the key which has the same key signature but a different tonic, as opposed to parallel minor or major, respectively. For example, G major and E minor both have a single sharp in their key signature; so we say that E minor is the relative minor of G major.

Parallel key - In music, the parallel minor or tonic minor of a particular major key is the minor key with the same tonic; similarly the parallel major of a minor key has the same tonic. For example, G major and G minor have different modes but both have the same tonic, G; so we say that G minor is the parallel minor of G major.

Music of Norway - Folk music from Norway is usually in minor or modal, making a sober and haunting sound, though major key dance music forms also exist. In the last half of the 20th century, Norway, like many other countries in the world, underwent a roots revival that saw indigenous music being revived.
